Tar Heels to skip NIT, put ‘focus on moving ahead’
North Carolina coach Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels, the first team to start No. 1 and miss the NCAA tournament since the event expanded in 1985, announced Sunday the program will not accept an invite to the NIT and instead will “focus on moving ahead.”
