How a Watch Can Help You Feel Your Best
How a Watch Can Help You Feel Your Best

Listen to your body. Sound advice, but easier said than done. One morning you feel like you could run until the sun goes down, the next it seems like you’re jogging through quicksand. Our bodies are mysterious things, and reading the signals can be a challenge. Now there’s help. Samsung’s new Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 help decode the subtle messages we get on a daily basis. With data-driven insights for sleep, heart health, cardio load, and more, these Android-compatible smartwatches help you hone in on healthy, everyday changes you can make to have more of the days you love.

Health and Fitness Insights Start with Sleep

The Galaxy Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 each have unique benefits—the Watch9 offers utility and convenience for routine training and daily life, while the Watch Ultra2 is built for rugged performance and out-there adventures—but they both deliver the same slate of health-forward features.

As with many aspects of daily health, it all starts with sleep. The new Galaxy watches offer Sleep Coaching,* which gives you personalized guidance based on a three- to four-week analysis of your sleep patterns. The feature then offers tailored guidance to improve your sleep over time, along with a daily Energy Score that factors in both last night’s sleep and your recent activity to determine what your body can best handle for the day. From there, you can adjust any workouts or adventures accordingly.

The Galaxy watches also make it easier to identify a common culprit of poor rest—sleep apnea. Both the Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 boast an FDA-cleared sleep apnea risk feature that detects signs of moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea risk via blood oxygen levels. Many people spend too long wondering why they’re always tired before getting an official apnea diagnosis, but with these watches, you’ll be headed in the right direction earlier.

Tracking Vitals Lets You Know When Something’s Off

That’s not all your watch can do while you sleep—it can also monitor your vital signals, letting you know when any of them fall out of normal range. As with the other health-minded functions, the Vitals feature is all about identifying subtle shifts in your body you may not have noticed otherwise. It’s a cheat code to feeling better, faster.

Vitals tracks five key health metrics—heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen. If any of them fall out of line with your previously established baseline, you’ll know. It’s easy to review your out of range metrics, so you can figure out if it’s something you can fix easily—like having lower skin temperature on a cool night—or harder-to-explain anomalies that may indicate a potential illness coming on.

Take the Guesswork Out of Training

Your health and wellness are never more important than when you’re training for a race or just ramping up your daily fitness goals, but that’s often when it can be trickiest to get things right, especially when you’re searching for the right balance between rest and effort. The new Galaxy watches make it easier, with smart features that map your progress and show you the daily effects of your workouts.

Take the Fitness Index** feature, for example. It analyzes data like your VO2 Max, BIA, heart rate, steps, and activity history to give you a comprehensive view of your overall fitness, so you know where you’re at and can track the results of your hard-earned progress. This feature also looks forward, offering workout programs based on your fitness level and goals.

Meanwhile, the Daily Cardio Load analyzes the cumulative cardio strain from your recent workouts, so you can decide when it’s a good idea to focus on recovery and when it’s OK to push yourself. There’s also a Running Coach feature that provides you with a personalized three- to five-week running program and 100-plus different workout modes. And exclusive to the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is a Trail Running mode that offers hydration alerts, trail guidance, and climb assistance on your most rugged workouts. That makes the Watch Ultra2 a great choice if you want one device that can do it all, whether you’re exploring the most far-flung trails or relaxing at home.

Smart Upgrades Complete the Package

Both the Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 are equipped with the new Raise to Talk feature, which allows you to start workouts or text your training partners with just your voice. Both have improved battery life for longer adventures, and use an all-new Snapdragon® Wear Elite Platform that launches apps faster and improves performance and accuracy.

As the more adventure-tuned model of the two watches—the most advanced smartwatch ever made by Samsung—the Watch Ultra2 has even more to offer. It’s got a large, user-friendly face, a rugged titanium case, an ultra-bright screen you can see even in the brightest sun, and dedicated features for outdoor pursuits.

These improvements, like the other features of the new Samsung Galaxy Watches, are designed to make it easier for you to get more out of every workout, every day, and every night. That means you can go farther, get stronger, and feel your best. What could be better than that?
